Birding at Changi Village

Went to Changi Boardwalk with AH for birding and another “training”. In the two and half hours walk, we were surrounded by flowers and trees, sea breeze, birds’ twitters ………., I felt quite peaceful and relax.

AH brought one more set of binoculars for me to watch birds. I remember when I first met her, I kept asking her what enjoyment she had in birding. To me, birds can be watched only from a far distance, unlike dogs and cats, we can at least have some communication or interaction with them, for birds, there would not be any interaction, I really didn’t understand where the fun is. But now, after a few trials, I start to have some interest in birding too.

Today, I am impressed by a pair of Pink-necked Green-pigeon. When AH spotted them, they were sitting side by side on a branch, concentrating in cleaning their feathers. AH and I were watching them quietly from their back, the atmosphere was so peaceful.

We also saw two different types of Kingfisher at the seaside. I would say we were lucky as both of them stayed at where they were long enough for a beginner like me to have a better sight on them.

Around noon time, we had our lunch at the hawker center. I am pleased to have the chance to savour the famous Malay Chicken Rice, and with that, ends today’s “training”.
